Managing Director

I was born in Belgium but fell in love with South Africa during a visit 25 years ago. I decided to stay and make it home. Started working with Woolworths at the end of the previous century and loved it. Passionate about flavour. I particularly enjoy driving product innovation and sustainability. I live in the Winelands with my wife Farah and our three teenage children. I’m a keen swimmer and an enthusiastic yet slow runner. Love electronic music and have a weakness for music festivals. Aspiring vegetarian.

Development Manager

Johan

Johan plays a crucial role in Table Grape ARC research and as a table grape producer, greatly benefiting Fruition. He explores newly bred and captivating grape varieties for the company.

During South African Grape season, he is frequently in the vineyards. In the import season, he accompanies the WW team to selected farms in Europe and Egypt. His involvement in FPIA (Fresh Producers Importer Association) is advantageous, focusing on expanding South Africa's grape variety options. He's passionate about tracking agricultural advancements and research breakthroughs.

Chief Financial Officer

Barry

Being the CFO of the Unlimited Group for the past 13 years has been undoubtedly his crowning achievement of his professional career.

Even though his role is finance, his passion has always been people and to see personal growth in the staff is fulfilling. As a director of Unlimited Group this is one of his key objectives.

Growing up, however, his first choice of a career would was to become a sports commentator. When Barry isn’t busy with all things Fruition and UG, you'll find him commentating on a South African Rugby game from home. And, yes, we are winning!

General Manager and Grapes Account Manager

Being one of the largest importers of fresh fruit for Woolworths SA, this team is always innovating, building on old and new supplier relationship which in the end become our family. I oversee all business functions from Supplier to Customer. I am also the Key Account Manager on grapes, which is 60% of our total business.

Our culture is what I am most passionate about. We focus on cultural development within our packhouses as well as head office. Happy workers = profitable company. I believe no matter what role you fill on the company, your role is important.

Packhouse Manager

Freddy

Our aim is to make sure that the packhouse’s day-to-day operations run smoothly and adhere to all necessary standards of our company and our end customer, Woolworths. I pride myself in having an excellent team to achieve our goals and deliver value to Woolworths.

Continuous improvement is my driving force.

I am a family man and would call myself somewhat of a football expert.

Financial Manager

Growing up in Robertson’s wine valley, agriculture has always been in my blood. Completing my tertiary education at Stellenbosch University, I proceeded to do my articles which led to my first introduction with the Unlimited Group. I have been part of this dynamic company since 2018.

I believe balance in life is key, If I am not crunching the numbers, then I spend time on the golf course, mountain biking, or jogging! I am a huge sport fanatic and enjoy the good food and wine that the Cape has to offer.

I believe that the Human Resource department plays a crucial role in creating and upholding organizational structure and uniformity. It fosters efficient communication between managers and employees to promote effective operations.

I hold a deep enthusiasm for my profession, driven by a strong conviction to enact meaningful change. My wellspring of energy comes from my family and the vibrancy of live concerts.

We source the finest quality local and international citrus, peaches, nectarines, cherries, and plums. Our goal is to consistently offer Woolworths the best quality and latest available varieties.

I am of the belief that a robust work ethic is instrumental in achieving success in this industry, as diligent effort invariably yields results.

My family serves as my anchor, and every moment spent with them is a blessing, whether it's during camping trips or music festivals – we always strive to make it unforgettable.

In a nutshell: Love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life.

Our Technical and Quality Department holds responsibility for all technical systems, processes, and management. We uphold quality by ensuring that the processes governing product development and production adhere to a defined set of standards and specifications. Our constant objective is to consistently deliver the best product that our customers rightfully deserve.
